International Projects

Every two years, Zonta International sponsors international programs in association with United Nations agencies that are working to advance the status of women.

Most of these programs are in developing nations and are selected by the Zonta International Board and approved by Zonta International membership. To learn more about the International Service Projects, visit the Zonta International Web Site.

The Zonta Rose

Pic 2The "Zonta Rose" - a beautiful yellow floribunda rose - was specially developed for Zonta International and officially released to the organization's 1984 International Convention in Sydney, Australia, as a living symbol of Zonta International.

The Zonta Club Halifax commissioned a reproduction in partnership with the other Nova Scotia Zonta Clubs of Amherst and Truro. The manufactured version, fashioned in gold-coloured metal, is appoximately 2" long by 1/2" at the widest point. Its size is convenient to be used in conjunction with a business card containing basic information about Zonta. The Zonta Rose lapel pin can also be used alone as a symbol of International Women's Day.
