She is now enjoying some time with her husband, her 4 year old nephew Jacob, amazing family and friends

Joanne Puopolo ~ Lt Governor for District I
Joanne joined the Zonta Club of Malden in 2006 because membership would allow her the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of women and girls on a local and international level. She has held the positions of Club President (2012-2014), Vice President, Treasurer, Scholarship Chair, Membership Chair and serves on the Board of Directors for the Malden Club. She also served as the Public Relations Chair for both the Malden Club and the District from 2010-2014. Joanne is passionate about this organization;
making a difference; and is excited about being able to continue to work toward fulfilling Zonta International’s goals at the district level and the direction in which the organization is moving. She will continue to utilize social media in our work toward fulfilling Zonta International goals for the coming Biennium.  As a Fiscal Manager for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Joanne is responsible for managing and reporting on $4.7 billion dollars of State and Federal funding and provides fiscal oversight and technical assistance to ensure efficient account management and compliance with all regulatory and procedural requirements.

When she is not working or advocating on behalf of Zonta, she is also a student advisory council advisor for the State and the Western MA region. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family members and spoiling her dog. She brings experience, high energy and enthusiasm, along with an avid interest in technology and media to Zonta.

Joanne Lambert ~Deceased 2/2015
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Lt. Governor Joanne Lambert.  She had been bravely fighting cancer for the past five years.  Joanne was from Melrose and was a member of the Malden club.  She had served as President of the club and as Area Director.  Those of us who were fortunate enough to know her, remember her as an outgoing, charming woman, always with a laugh and a smile.   There is an obituary on line f you wish to read more about her life.

Joanne, of the Zonta Club of Malden, MA is retired (since 2008) from a career in education with the Malden Public School System. During her 35 years of service she held the positions of physical education teacher, middle school science teacher, District Coordinator of Health Education and, at the time of her retirement, Assistant Principle. She also had the pleasure of coaching high school varsity field hockey for 19 years.

Joanne was born and raised in Williamstown, MA. She received her BS from Boston Bouve College, Northeastern University in 1973 and her MEd from Salem State University in 1982.
In 1997 Joanne was invited to become a members of the Zonta Club of Malden and she hasn’t looked back. At one time or another she has chaired most every club committee (with the exception of finance) and serviced as Vice- President 2002-2005 and President from 2005-2008. Joanne then went on to service as District IV Area Director from 2008-2010; chaired the District 1 Nominating Committee 2010-2011; and chaired the District Fall Conference in 2010 and 2013. International Conferences are obviously always in her sights as she has attended four (NYC, Australia, Rotterdam & Orlando) and has plans to go to Nice and Japan. During the last biennium Joanne co-chaired the Advocacy Committee leading the response to the “Zonta Says No” campaign. In her role as LT Governor for the next two years she especially looks forward to working with District clubs in her capacity as Chairman of retaining and increasing membership.

While increasing membership is the number one goal, making sure current members are challenged and working to further the ZI mission so they remain active and involved is equally important.
